Deviations¶
A deviation records anything that did not go as planned: usually a failed test step.
Raising a deviation¶
Use Raise deviation on a failed step or on a failed automated test; the form is pre-filled. You can also raise one from the system's Deviations page.
Investigation¶
Each deviation records:
- Classification
- Root cause
- Impact assessment
- Corrective action / CAPA
- An optional retest link to a later execution
Closing¶
An Approver (QA) closes the deviation with an electronic signature.
- The person who raised a deviation cannot close it.
- A linked retest must be a later, passing execution of the same test.
- A closed deviation cannot be edited.
Open deviations are the RTM gap open-deviation, and a failed execution without a closed deviation is failed-without-closed-deviation. Both block the VSR.
Cannot pass in an environment¶
For a test that must pass in several environments, a closed deviation can record that the test cannot pass in a given environment. That closes the not-passed-in-environment gap for it.
